Update - Outage Rescheduled to 10/24/2008 12:00pm - 10/27/2008 9:00am

By dan goldberg - October 15, 2008

The server move that will cause service outages scheduled for this weekend has been rescheduled to next weekend (10/24/2008 12:00 pm - 10/27/2008 9:00 am).

Updated message:

The Texas A&M GeoServices site and all services will be unavailable next weekend (10/24/2008 12:00 pm - 10/27/2008 9:00 am) while our data center is moved to a more secure and reliable location.

This move will locate our servers in their final location after the summer-long construction that has been taking place in Kaprielian Hall, the home of the Texas A&M Department of Geography. Upgrades have been made to the physical security, electrical and HVAC infrastructures, and network connectivity that should provide a stable and reliable system for the foreseeable future.

Any processes that are running during this time will be administratively aborted and will need to be restarted once the servers are back online. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please let us know if you have any questions or need any help.
